Pregnancy pain can be frightening, especially if it is your first pregnancy. Pregnancy pain can occur anywhere in the body, but is common as your changing body tries to adapt to some pretty trying circumstances.
Lower abdominal pain is common during the first trimester, but serious pain that prevents you from normal activities is not. If your pain is so severe that you cannot sleep or work, then you need to call your health care practitioner.
Back pain is very common. You are walking differently, carrying more yoga for pregnancy and sleeping on your side may help relieve this form of pregnancy pain.
Up to 80% of women experience some form of pregnancy pain, usually in the lower back. Complementary treatments like massage, or chiropractic care may be helpful for some women. Over the counter pain relievers can be taken, but should be discussed with your health care provider.
