Pregnancy Delivery

Your forty week pregnancy period is finally drawing to an end. It culminates in your opportunity to welcome your baby at the pregnancy delivery.

You will need to decide where you want to deliver the baby and know in advance what your options are for pain relief. Most hospitals encourage you to pre-register to make the check-in procedure go more smoothly when you arrive in active labor. You may also wish to have a doula, or a trained birth assistant with you when you labor and deliver. Some hospitals offer doula services for free, or they may be able to recommend someone.

Being prepared for pregnancy delivery is very important. Ignore everyone else’s horror stories, and learn about pregnancy delivery for yourself. Watch videos, read books, take labor and delivery classes. The more you know, the less worried you need to be. Relaxed, confident moms have easier and often shorter labors.
