Even though I have never had the opportunity or at least met the criteria for a research study, I am a huge supporter of clinical research studies. Besides the good feeling of contributing to the wider body of medical knowledge, people participating in trials often receive free or reduced medical care, medications, or other tangible benefits. This research study, for example, offers cash and travel costs. RESEARCH STUDY: Endometrial Effects of Metformin Action in Women with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) WHERE: Yale Fertility Center, 150 Sargent Drive, New Haven COMPENSATION: Up to $320 plus travel cost PROCEDURES: Blood sample Endometrial biopsy Approved by the Yale Univ IRB on December 11, 2009 CONTACT: Dr. Lubna Pal (203) 785-6161 email: [email protected] or [email protected] For more information on clinical trials in general, go to clinicaltrials.gov. For a current list of clinical trials, go to www.centerwatch.com. DC Women with PCOS Invited to Participate PCOS Challenge is seeking 6-10 women with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) in the DC metropolitan area to be a part of the PCOS CHALLENGE television show.
