NYU Infertility Center uses them. This allows for more selective transfer of “perfect” embryos and not waste any more time on those where there are genetic issues. In addition, this is the first company that can also check to see which parent is the contributor of the issue with the 3-day embryo. They take out one of the 8 cells and ship it overnight to California. The results get back to the dr. by end of day 4/morning of day 5. If any are good, then the transfer continues and if all are bad, then transfer doesn’t take place. You can also request a copy of the report to see the details for yourself. Over two cycles with GSN, I had 26 eggs retrieved and learned that only 2 were 100% perfect. Without this test, it was a shot in the dark. I just finished the second IVF cycle with ICSI and GSN two weeks ago and came back with a +! My fingers crossed that it keeps. :o) Good Luck to you – don’t give up yet. First – there isn’t anything you can do to raise beta numbers. They either rise or they don’t – we are at their mercy. Second, 7 IVF cycles might be a good time to re-evaluate your next step in the journey. It would be a good time to get a second opinion and consider other options, such as donor eggs, for example, if such an option is morally acceptable for you. Another option to consider is meeting with a mental health professional to help you and your partner, if you have one, look at where you are and what is most important in your family-building journey. wishing you joy,
