A (fairly) normal uterine cavity and endometrial lining are necessary in order to conceive and maintain a pregnancy. There are several conditions related to the cavity or the lining that can cause problems. Problems include an absent uterus, the uterus has not developed sufficiently in size (hypoplastic uterus), an abnormally shaped uterus such as T shaped uterus, double uterus, birconuate (two-horned uterus), unicornuate (a half uterus) and uterine septum (this is the most common congenital abnormalities and is associated with the highest incidence of reproductive failure such as recurrent miscarriage). A tilted or tipped uterus is more common however, but is known by several different names: retroflexed uterus, tilted uterus, backward uterus, retroverted uterus, or tilted womb. Medical terms for it include: uterine retroversion, uterine retroflexion, retroversion of the uterus, symptomatic uterine retroversion, symptomatic uterine reflexion, uterine retrodisplacement, reflexion of the uterus. While it can make sexual intercourse more painful, it doesn’t often affect fertility.

No it does not prevent you from getting pregnant. Im 6 weeks pregnant. My very first ultrasound, the tech told me my uterus was really high….so NO this does not prevent anything! Ohh…it took 6 months to conceive..so maybe it can take a little longer to get prego.
