My wife and I are considering reflexology for help with our infertility. Is this a valid option in your opinion to help us get pregnant?

At first glance, not many

At first glance, not many people would see the connection between refexology, a traditional healing art dating from the ancient Egyptians and Chinese, which involves manipulation of pressure points in the hands and feet and fertility. Typically reflexology is often used to ease period pain, headaches, sinus and back problems as well as the effects of chemotherapy.

There is new research pending in the UK, where there tends to more openness to alternative care. The latest research, a two year clinical trial at the IVF unit at Derriford Hospital in Plymouth, is the brainchild of reflexologist Jane Holt. She approached the unit after 13 of the 23 women she treated with a range of fertility problems got pregnant last year.

It's too soon to tell what researchers will show, but reflexology won't hurt your chances and it might help.
