Yams good for infertility

Hi Angie. My husband and I

Hi Angie. My husband and I have been TTC for a little over a year. We have our first appointment next week to start to see if one of us has a condition that is preventing me to get pregnant. In the meantime I have been trying to alter my lifestyle to make sure my body is as good as it can be. I heard that diet can play a big role in this and I often see that Yams are important. Is that so? I know that there is no one miracle cure but anything that can increase our chances would be good to know. Thank you.

Yams are a good food for

Yams are a good food for general health but are not the progesterone supplement that many believe them to be:

Natural progesterone is made by synthesizing plants such as wild yams and soybeans into progesterone. As a result, some manufacturers market wild yam cream as a form of natural progesterone as well. However, wild yam cream does not contain any natural progesterone.

The human body cannot make progesterone out of wild yams; wild yams can only be made into progesterone in a laboratory.
