I have been having unprotective sex for over eight years and have not gotten pregant. I don't have a regular menstral cycle and I am over weight. Is there any type of fertility medicine that I can take to see if I can get pregant?

Not having regular cycles and being overweight may be related to PCOS, or Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, a metabolic disorder that is characterized by hormone imbalances. The only way to get a diagnosis though is from a physician, and you should have an exam regularly.

Most physicians will want you to have a menstrual cycle at least once a quarter, or every three months. An inexpensive medication, Progesterone, can help you clear out your uterine lining, though it won't cause you to ovulate.

Many women with PCOS are able to conceive, though it may take ovulation medication.
