Unfortunately, unless your partner has fathered other children previously, there is no at-home way to determine his sperm health. If he smokes or drinks a lot, and is in general poor health, you can assume his sperm health may be compromised.

Otherwise, the best thing to do, is for him to make an appointment with a urologist for sperm testing. However, his family doctor may aso be able to order the test, and may cost less.

A check for STD's is also a good idea, as they can impact fertility as well.
