Hi My wife has gone for ultrasound of the vagina but there is only a sac showing in the uterus is it still possible that she could get pregnant with just the sac present.

It's hard to say. Sometimes

It's hard to say. Sometimes an empty gestational sac means there was a miscarriage or a blighted ovum. Sometimes a heartbeat just couldn't be seen. But I don't know how far along she is, either. If the doctor is doing regular hCG tests, that should provide you with more indication about the viability of a possible pregnancy.
Good luck!

Anytime you suspect there is

Anytime you suspect there is bleeding with a pregnancy, you should call your health care provider to determine the cause.

If it is not clear if your wife is pregnant and she has not yet menstruated, some women do have some spotting about the time the peiod was due.

Make sure you stay in contact with your health care provider about what is happening to get a clear answer about whether this is prgnancy-related or not.
