Carry donor samples in an environmentally friendly way

In honor of Earth Day, everyone is paying a little more attention to where they put their stuff, how much stuff they buy, and the stuff they put into the atmosphere. There’s one sperm bank in Denmark where they have put it all together in a successful delivery system: the Sperm Bike! Good for the environment and good for baby making too!

Cyclists are a very common sight in Copenhagen and cargo bikes are a dime a dozen. They have a culture that welcomes and accommodates alternative transportation. But this cargo bike, shaped like a sperm and holding a cryo-refrigeration unit in its head, gets lots of attention.

The bike was built for the sperm bank Nordisk Cryobank (European Sperm Bank) and the rider transports cryo-preserved sperm from the bank to the fertility clinics all over town where it is used for baby-making. It's efficient, environmentally friendly and provides loads of advertising.

The Sperm Bike was constructed by a Danish company, 10 Tons, which also makes zoological and biological models as well as recreations of animals like the giant killer whales or dinosaurs you see at museums.

But in the end, it's about advertising, getting the product where it needs to go, cleaning the environment and helping women have babies. All noble causes.
