Brangelina spotlight adoption

November is National Adoption Month in the United States. This is the day when media events and public gatherings all draw attention to the joys of adoption and to the needs of the over 100,000 children waiting for adoptive families. There are also events planned which educate potential adoptive parents on the how to’s and government incentives which help to expedite the process.

In honor of Adoption Day, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have put their support behind an American organization which plays an important role in joining children with families. While the Jolie-Pitt Foundation is best known for it’s work abroad especially with third world nations, it is no surprise that they threw their support behind adoption. They have six children, three of whom are adopted. The SOS Children’s Villages–USA is an organization that helps to provide loving stable homes for foster children whose biological parents are not able to take care of them.

“I am truly thankful that Angelina and Brad understand the power of family – the kind of stable family that SOS holds as an essential part of healthy child development,” CEO of SOS Children’s Villages, Heather Paul said. “Angelina and Brad know that children’s need for a family is universal.”
