I have been experiencing infertility for the past year. I am 33 years old and in overall excellent health. After 6 failed inseminations, my MD did a laparoscopy 3 wks ago and found stage 1-2 endo. He said my next option would be to try insemination w/ hormone therapy. I apologize for throwing a question in here, but I am so overwhelemd right now...I am right now taking oral organic progesterone for precautionary reasons although my past bloodwork has shown good hormonal levels. Will my taking progesterone possibly prevent my period and mimic a false pregnancy? I certainly don't need a false sense of hope after a year of anguish.

Progesterone helps build your endometrium. It can neither stop a period from coming nor prevent a miscarriage. It is only an additional hormone therapy added on to support your pregnancy

Has your doctor also removed the adhesions or was it only a diagnostic surgery? I had six failed IUIs too and my RE removed stage-I endo a couple of years back. Did a couple of IUIs and an IVF after that and still no success. I hope my endo has not returned now.

Good luck to you.

i REALLY appreciate the reply...yes my RE removed all adhesions and he was very positive saying i should get pg soon, w/o any outside help! i wish i could be that hopeful. truly he does
not have a crystal ball and from reading up on endo, it's not that simple, actually endo is complicated and very much a medical mystery. i can opt for iui w/ hormone therapy. i ovulate every month and i'm regular. has anyone tried anything similar ?

I don't have endo, but lots of women with worse diagnostics than you have become pg. There's just no promise. I would say do not give up hope. Progesterone can delay AF, but generally it doesn't. Good luck and welcome!!!

Also, just to warn you, progesterone does make you feel preggo. It gives you the sore boobs, cramping, nausea. To be honest, it feels very much like early pregnancy. So try not to read too much into those symptoms if you have them. Good luck!!!
