hi! my name is val and i used to be a member a few years back. well, i am back and trying again.
the last time i was here i did an unsuccessful ivf, but there are new developments in my story.
i had problems with my tubes and had had a surgery to open them back in about 2005. then i did 6 cycles of gonal f with no success. then the ivf. about a year later i was ready to see what was going on with my body and i went to my regular gyno. i had another hsg and found out that my tube was still blocked! it scarred after the surgery that i had, so all of the gonal f cycles were all for nothing. (the other tube isn't so good on the inside so i am banking on this one) ok-the tube was reopened and my dr said that he was confident that it wouldn't re-close because he opened it with dye and it didn't bleed at all so he felt that there was no risk for scarring.
so my gyno gave me clomid for 2 months, 50, then 100, but my hormones are so off that i still didn't ovulate. the side effects were so bad that i didn't want to do that anymore, so off to the specialist i went.
now i am currently taking bravelle along with my other meds and all seems to be going well. i had an u/s yesterday and had an 8,9,and two 7s on the left (good side) and two 6s and two 7s on the other side. i have to go back tomorrow to see what is going on, but i am feeling positive!
good luck to all!!!!
Val
ps i am 26 and husband is 28 -ttc for almost 6 yrs. |

Hello Val,
Thank you so much for sharing your story. Going through this as many of us know takes patience as well as courage as well as hope. I really wish you all of the best. Please keep us all up to date. I will have my fingers crossed for you.

| Hello!! Sorry to hear about the complications you've had. It seems that this IF stuff is such an impossible puzzle sometimes. If only, the RE's could look at us and tell us everything that was wrong in one fell swoop. I wasted a bunch of time on clomid cycles also, just to find out that I had diminished ovarian reserve at the age of 24!!! So though it seemed like I was ovulating, I certainly was not. That made me feel glad to have put my body through so much for nothing. Anyway, I'm Amanda, it's good to meet you and I hope that this next little while brings you your miracle!!! |
