I am 32, dh 37, underwent ivf on lupron, menapur, and follistim. had 9 follicles, only 1 mature and fertilized perfect quality. Negative preg. E2 was at 1800 day before retrieval & all follicles appeared to be normal size before aspiration. Does anyone know if I could be a poor responder or if the retrieval was prematurely conducted?
Anyones experience and support would be greatly appreciated. Just found out negative today. crying all afternoon but dh very supportive. |

I am so sorry about your failed IVF. Mine did not fail, but I had an early m/c. Same result though..a broken heart. Do understand what you are going through right now.
If your follicles were size 16 and above then your levels seem to be good (requirement is 200 times the no. of mature follicles) I understand you had only one good quality embryo. Typically a min. of 4 embryos are transferred to expect a good rate of success. What did your doctor say about your stimulation?
Sorry, I do not have all the answers you are looking for. But know that we are here for you, whenever you want to vent. |

I don't have all the answers either, but if you only had 1 mature egg then to me that would point to immature follicles. In other words, your RE retrieved too early. My E2 was at 3800 before my ER. There is just so many different aspects to how and why they do things, that it would be impossible to say without more info. My best advice is, research everything and don't hesitate to ask your RE all your questions until you feel comfortable and confident. It is your precious resources that pay for this and your poor emotions that deal with it. I understand broken heart too well and offer you hugs. Praying you find some answers and peace for your hurting heart...

First off, I am so sorry that this was not your cycle. My first 2 IVFs + 1 FET were BFNs and i know how hard it is to go thru so much, then get the call with the negative.
Is this the first time you have ever been on injectibles? What dose were you on? How many days did you stim?
Sometimes if you stim too quickly, you will have follicles develop, but they will not contain mature or quality eggs. |

| Sounds like they should have dragged the dose out and given it to you longer. I had a cycle where I did not get enough maturity and that is what they did and it resulted in more mature eggies... |
