People are always surprised to find that doctors can pretty well treat whoever they want to. Well, not emergency room doctors. If you're in need of life-saving, they gotta do it.

Infertility docs, not so much. A doctor in Ireland has been investigated by the Irish Medical Council after he declined to treat an unmarried couple for infertility.

According to the Irish Catholic newspaper the doctor, who runs a clinic in Galway, would not treat the couple because of his belief that only married people should have children.

Dr Phil Boyle, who runs a specialist fertility practice in Galway Clinic, a Catholic hospital, offers a treatment called napro technology which is fully compatible with the Catholic Church’s teaching on assisted human reproduction.

But Dr Boyle would not treat an unmarried couple who contacted him, because of his belief that only married people should have children.

Plenty of docs in the US feel the same way. Whether its a couple couple or a single person, lots of docs won't let you in the door if they don't agree with your life.

Can you sue?
Asolutely. And you might even win.
In a couple of years.
After a huge nightmare of a lawsuit.
I applaud those who go through with it.
