Myths About Infertility and Alcohol

There are some misconceptions that alcohol is okay to drink before and during pregnancy, so long as you control your intake. This is completely false in the case of women. If you are trying to get pregnant, you may want to get rid of the booze. If you are currently pregnant it will more than likely result in FTS (fetal alcohol syndrome), but if you are trying to get pregnant, alcohol may increase your chances of infertility. The results may be devastating; not only physically, but mentally as well. For men, however, it is a little different. If you and your partner are trying to conceive, taking the occasional drink is not nearly as harmful as it would be to a woman. Men generally are not affected by small amount of alcohol, but women who are trying to conceive should bring the drinking to a standstill. Infertility is only a bottle away. Choose not to drink that bottle.
