Weighing the Possibility of getting Pregnant

Being overweight and underweight impacts the possibility of getting pregnant. Women with abnormal weight are half as likely to become pregnant as compared to women with a healthy weight.

Thin and underweight women have low levels of the chemical leptin which is a natural weight regulator in the metabolism and lack or reduced amount of leptin affects the discharge of the egg. Overweight women suffer hypertension, heart disease, diabetes and high levels of cholesterol and these factors decrease fertility gradually. Hormone imbalance is another common problem for women with abnormal weight. Hormone imbalance is a deterrent to fertility.

The treatment for weight abnormalities is a healthy diet. When a person plans to conceive, reducing or increasing weight through a healthy diet consisting of a balance of nutrients, fresh fruit and vegetables, plenty of fruit juices and water and a regular exercise routine will improve the chances of getting pregnant safely.
