Male Infertility – What Are the Causes?

Statistics say that around 15% of couples suffer from infertility, and one-third of this percentage of infertility is caused by men, and another one-third is caused by both men and women together.

The reasons why a man is infertile go back to the condition of his sperm; that means that infertility is caused if the man’s sperm are low in production (low sperm count), if the sperm are abnormally shaped, if the sperm don’t move correctly, or if there is any underlying medical problem (which means that the problem is not identified).

So, as for women, men also should go to a doctor to see where the problem is. The doctor’s test recognizes the problem and gives the most suitable treatment according to the results of the test. The treatment could be through a surgery, or a certain medication.

More than one-half of male infertility cases succeed in healing and later in conceiving.
