Males can be infertile, too

When a couple is said to be infertile, people tend to think that the problem lies with the woman. After all, the woman enters the menopausal stage, wherein she becomes incapable of bearing a child.

But what most people do not realize is the fact that male infertility is already almost as common as female infertility. In other words, male infertility can be the main contributing factor in couples who do not have a child.

Almost all male infertility problems have something to do with the sperm. Low sperm counts, poor sperm quality, no sperm at all–these are the problems that are associated with male infertility. That is why the treatments for male infertility focus on making the most out of the sperms that a man has.

A highly popular treatment used for male infertility is artificial insemination, wherein the sperm is directly placed into the woman’s reproductive tract to assist in pregnancy. Other methods include in vitro fertilization and sperm donation.
