Infertility: What is it?

Infertility is the state where a couple have tried for a full year to conceive, but could not. It is sometimes called sterility, too.

Many people, males and females, suffer from this problem, and there are many reasons behind it. To mention one of the reasons, we must say that in recent years, couples get married at a late age; this means that the possibility for a woman to get pregnant is decreased due to the fact that women’s chances of having a baby decrease each year after the age of 30.

If one has tried to conceive and it did not work, then he should make a visit to a doctor. A first test made to a man is the sperm test; it is run to see the condition of the sperms. A first test made to a woman is the ovaries test; it is run to see if the ovaries work properly.

Fortunately, about two thirds of infertility cases are healed when certain surgeries or common treatments are made.
