Diagnosing infertility

Not being successful during the first dry does not mean that one of you is infertile. There are several fertility tests that need to be confirmed first before you can conclude that one of you is having infertility problems.

Infertility is not a disease of women. Even men can have problems related to infertility, such as low sperm count or poor quality sperm. For men, since their sperm is the main area of concern, they undergo sperm analysis to be able to know the quality and count of their sperms. For women, there is an extensive list of infertility tests that must be done in order to have a conclusive finding of infertility. There is the hormone test, which examines the amount of progesterone, prolactin, and thyroid hormones present in the body.

There is also an ovulation test, which examines a woman’s menstrual cycle. The woman will also be tested for Chlamydia and Gonorrhea, since these two diseases cause infertility.

In general, fertility tests are used to diagnose a problem and not to cure it. They serve as bases for the treatment regimen that a couple will undergo once they are diagnosed to be infertile.
