When is it enough?

With all the available infertility treatments nowadays, that spark of hope in having a baby someday is kept alive in the hearts of infertile couples. If one treatment does not work, you can always try another one. The opportunities seem to be endless, but what if you can’t really have a child? When is the right time to stop trying, and how do you know it?

They say infertility treatments can take a very long time to take effect, so you really can’t just stop because it’s taking you months to get it right. What if you’re already close to it? Therefore, you can only rely on your intuition or gut feel about the situation. One sign that you may probably want to stop taking infertility treatments is when you are already feeling that what you’re doing is futile. Furthermore, you are not excited anymore on the idea of another treatment course, because it will only prolong your agony. You want to move forward with your life, and you are finally ready to accept the fact that maybe, it’s just not meant to be.

The key here is your preparedness to stop the treatment. Once you have prepared yourself well for it, it won’t be very excruciating when you do so.
