Medpedia Enters Online Health Arena

If you are interested in the infertility arena from a professional perspective, and you haven’t visited Tracy Morris’ How to Make a Family blog, you’ve missed out. Full disclosure – I have written a few blogs for her, but not, sadly, for a while. Written from a seasoned veteran’s perspective of working in the field, her posts are witty, informative and occasionally snarky. (No wonder I like her so much).
As I was checking in with her site this morning, I found out about medpedia, which, I am embarrassed to admit, I have never heard of. It is a pretty nifty site. Imagine Wikipedia and webmd merged together, but easier to use. Medpedia is designed for “anyone with an interest in health, medicine and the body, including medical professionals, medical organizations (for-profit and non-profit), and the general public."
It has some growing to do, but this is not health 101, folks – this is ideal for people who want to take charge of their own health care decisions as well as to help health care providers stay on top of what is happening in terms of public health, health organizations and more. My fave? The twitter page, with an aggregated news updates from reliable health sites.
