Life after an Infertility Diagnosis

Emotions flood with an infertility diagnosis. Guilt, anger, and frustration plague the lives of couples where one or both are diagnosed with being infertile---sterile, barren, inutile.

An infertility diagnosis is the nightmare that awakens a couple who has exhausted all avenues to bear a child. It is an invisible wall which will separate the husband and the wife. It is like a sword hanging on a thread which will sooner or later fall and pierce the relationship apart, if ignored by the couple.

Communication between man and wife after an infertility diagnosis is very important. It is the first avenue they should travel so that they can express their feelings, vent out their frustrations and realize that even though everything else fails in this world they still have each other.

Being infertile is not the end of the world. It is not a period in a sentence. The diagnosis should not isolate couples from each other. It should not isolate the couple from the rest of the reproductive race. There is still hope. As long as the husband and wife have the will there will always be many opportunities to explore such as breakthroughs in research and medicine. Or if you really can’t achieve the ultimate goal of getting pregnant, you can have other options, such as adoption, which will still leave you contented and fulfilled.
